Fainting. One of the most scariest thing that can ever happen. Being prone to fainting is sometimes called fainting spells or syncope. Fainting spells is something around 1/3 healthy adolescents have. Being prone to fainting is very dangerous because you could faint at almost any time. Just don't freak out.

    Research and know the topic of fainting. Feeling dizzy can occur suddenly to any people with fainting spells. Knowing what to do when you feel dizzy is a good thing.

    See why you might be fainting. There are tons of reasons why you might be fainting, from getting up too fast to low blood pressure. This is really good to do because it can help you avoid whatever you are prone to fainting from. Here are some reasons you might be fainting.
    • Abnormally low blood pressure.
    • Vasovagal syncope.
    • Heart attack.
    • Stress.
    • Abnormal heart rhythm.
    • Getting up too fast.
    • Dehydration.

    Recognize how to feel faint. There are lots of ways.
    • Seeing white or black spots.
    • Dizziness/lightheadedness.
    • Feeling hot/sweating.
    • Paleness.
    • Upset stomachs.
    • Tunnel or blurry vision.

    Know what to do when you feel faint. Feeling faint can happen almost anytime. If you don't do the right thing at the right time you may severely injure yourself.  
    1. The first thing to do is to sit down. Not sitting means you could fall and crack open your head or worse. Don't do anything before you sit down.

    3. Yell as loud as you can. You may feel like you're talking very quiet. This is normal, when you feel faint it's as if life is being drained from you.
    4. Don't freak out.
    5. Now, if you still have time, find a place to elevate your feet. This will help you become conscious faster.

    Be prepared when you become conscious again. Fainting is definitely scary, that's why when you wake up you might scream. Just be calm, you're okay. You may have urinated your pants, there is a slight chance of this happening. When you're ready, get up slowly. If you are alone, try and find someone for help.

    Tell your doctor that you've fainted. He/She will need it to see why you are fainting. This can be helpful because you can avoid doing what's causing you to faint.
